I’m Jas Leverette – international dog trainer, behaviorist, and founder of CALI K9®. You may know me from Canine Intervention on Netflix, where I share the methods I’ve used for years to help dogs and their owners build real structure, communication, and trust.
I’ve trained thousands of dogs across all breeds and backgrounds, and my mission stays the same: reduce dog bites, keep dogs out of shelters, and give people the tools to create safe, confident, well-balanced companions.
I’ve been blessed to share my work on platforms like The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Phil, TMZ, and others — but the real work happens on the ground, helping families and trainers understand dogs on a deeper level.
As a certified Schutzhund (IGP) and PSA decoy, I bring years of hands-on experience in high-drive performance work, behavior modification, and real-world training. Whether I’m coaching a family dog or a working K9, my approach is rooted in clear communication, consistency, and balanced motivation.
My goal is simple: help people and dogs live better, safer, and more connected lives.
Jas Leverette, star of Netflix’s Canine Intervention, has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ, and major news and lifestyle outlets. Born in New York and raised in Oakland, he grew up training dogs and horses while competing in football, wrestling, and a range of equestrian sports. A natural animal communicator from a young age, Jas first learned behavior and body language through natural horsemanship — the foundation that shaped his lifelong career as a world-class dog trainer and behaviorist.
Jas has trained dozens of dog trainers and hundreds of family pet dogs, sport dogs, service dogs, and working law enforcement K9s. Jas has a passion for his work and can recognize drive, temperament, and disposition in all breeds. He possesses the know-how to optimize a dog’s true potential, and the skill to temper and train even the most difficult dog.
Jas is married to Nouhaila Leverette, they have a son, Jasir and a daughter, Nailah. His personal dogs include Dutch shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and a bully.
